ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:00, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Boreas

[edit]

Hello mr Deiadameian. Boreas is also the god of Ice, snow, joy, happiness and entertaiment since he is an old man winter Aojoji (talk) 17:37, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

...okay I guess? Deiadameian (talk) 18:34, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can i add the that title??? Aojoji (talk) 19:19, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you accompany it with a reliable source that supports the information, sure. Make sure it is a reliable one (WP:RS). Deiadameian (talk) 19:21, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK but they say the page is locked 2A02:1388:2085:FCC3:0:0:3B39:E1F6 (talk) 19:23, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I imagine you are still Aojoji? You need to log in. Deiadameian (talk) 19:26, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Seeing in Boreas's talk page that you apparently edited it before, and your edit was reverted. You are of course welcome to give your contribution, but you need to provide reliable sources (and please avoid edit-warring). I must say I have never heard of Boreas being a god of entertainment, so you might need to do better research, or else your edits will be removed again. Deiadameian (talk) 19:29, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK thanks 2A02:1388:2085:FCC3:0:0:3B39:E1F6 (talk) 19:34, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You are welcome. Deiadameian (talk) 19:35, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Deiadameian: so you're aware, this is the blocked user User:Akaora, who has been evading their block editing pages such as Boreas (god); see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Akaora/Archive. – Michael Aurel (talk) 03:18, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Aha, I did not know. Thanks for informing me. Deiadameian (talk) 10:01, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to join New pages patrol

[edit]

Hello Deiadameian!

  • The New Pages Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles needing review. We could use a few extra hands to help.
  • We think that someone with your activity and experience is very likely to meet the guidelines for granting.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
  • If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.

Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you around!

Hi, I see you're a member of WP:Mythology, would you be interested in a sub project on WP:Anthropology on oral tradition? Kowal2701 (talk) 14:47, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That's sounds interesting but I am not sure there's much I can contribute to in that area. Deiadameian (talk) 16:33, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Tbh, most articles involving oral tradition have clean up tags, even just copy editing would be useful. I’d like to have some useful sources on the main page for people interested but not familiar, personally I’d recommend skimming through Jan Vansina’s Oral tradition as history [1]. I imagine most people would just edit for specific topics or regions they’re interested in Kowal2701 (talk) 16:45, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. Deiadameian (talk) 16:57, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Have you considered nominating Aphrodite Rhithymnia for DYK? With a picture and an interesting story it's a good candidate. Richard Nevell (talk) 21:50, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Richard Nevell: Thank you, but I don't think it fulfills the "Cited hook – The facts of the hook need to appear in the article with a citation no later than at the end of the sentences in which they appear" criterion. Deiadameian (talk) 21:59, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
